On 18th December 3014 it was reported in our mediua that European judges have ruled obesity can be classed as a “disability” if it makes it harder for obese adults to do their job.It means UK firms will have to take “reasonable” steps to stop larger workers being disadvantaged.
These could include bigger seats or desks and parking spaces next to offices. Bosses who fail to take adequate measures could be sued.
One in four British adults, about 10 million people, are obese. So should obesity be classed as a disability?
