WE ALL WANT TO LIVE LONGER AND HEALTHILY, TO MAKE THE MOST OF THE LIFE WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN.

SO WITH THOSE THOUGHTS, I WANT US TO THINK ABOUT IS HOW FOOD IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT AND INTEGRAL PART OF OUR LIVES AND CAN CONTRIBUTE POSITIVELY TO OUR HEALTH AND THAT OF OUR FAMILIES, FRIENDS AND SOCIETY.

FOOD IS USED TO SHARE TIME WITH PEOPLE. EATING WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AROUND A TABLE HAS BEEN PROVEN TO ENHANCE RELATIONSHIPS, AND GIVE CHILDREN TIME TO BE HEARD AND LISTENED TO: A FAMILY THAT EATS TOGETHER STAY TOGETHER

IT GENERATES ENDORPHINS, PRODUCING MORE ENJOYMENT WHIH IN TURN MEANS  LESS ANXIETY AND A HEALTHIER  MIND

EATING TOGETHER MEANS YOU ARE MORE MINDFUL OF YOUR FOOD, RATHER THAN WOLFING IT DOWN. THIS LEADS TO FURTHER BENEFITS SUCH AS REDUCED OVER-EATING, IMPROVED DIGESTION AND INCREASED ENJOYMENT OF FOOD.  WE ALSO TEND TO MAKE MORE EFFORT TO MAKE IT MORE NUTRITIOUS.

THE LOVELY THING ABOUT FOOD IS IT ALSO SHOWS PERSONALITY. WE ALL HAVE OUR LIKES AND DISLIKES SO OUR FOOD CHOICE DEMONSTRATES OUR INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERS.

FOOD BRINGS CULTURES TOGETHER, SHOWING DIVERSITY AND CREATIVENESS.

IT LINKS GENERATIONS AS RECIPES ARE PASSED DOWN TO NEW GENERATIONS.

IT ALSO SHOWS HOW OUR BODIES ARE MADE SO CREATIVELY – WITH EVERY BIOCHEMICAL PATHWAY NEEDING NUTRIENTS TO MAKE IT WORK PROPERLY AND THUS DEFINING US AS HUMAN BEINGS.

SO HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE FOODS THAT BEST FEED YOUR BODY? AGAIN, THIS IS SHOWN SIMPLY BY COLOUR AS COLOURS INDICATE WHAT IS IN OUR FOOD:

YELLOW- eg TURMERIC CONTAIN FLAVANOIDS, GOOD FOR REDUCING INFLAMATION

ORANGE-SWEET POTATOES CONTAIN BETACAROTENE, ANTIOXIDANT GOOD FOR THE HEART

RED-EG CHERRIES, FIGHTS CANCER

BLUE-, EG BLUEBERRIES CONTAIN ANTHOCYANINS-BENEFITS EYESIGHT

GREEN –KALE OR BROCOLLI MAGNESIUM, GOOD FOR ANXIETY AND BLOOD SUGAR BALANCE

SO EAT A RAINBOW. SEEK TO SHARE YOUR FOOD WITH SOMEONE, BE UNIQUELY YOURSELF AND ENJOY!

    I live alone, therefore I eat alone. I have no choice about this. btw it’s not easy reading articles which are all capital letters.

    • I am sorry Chris the article is in capitals-I will make sure anything I write will be in normal letters next time> also I quite understand that of course it is difficult when you are on your own to always eat with others and I will do a news article on how to eat for one and what habits you can use to make sure you eat healthily and well and to prevent it being a time where we are tempted to eat too much. thank you for taking the time to comment.
