The story behind it all... 1 Year, 11 Months ago
Hello! Its great that we have forums here now as I have been wanting to talk to some other people who are going through the book!

I have now read the book through twice and been through the workbook once. I had previously lost 3 stone through a well known diet program but was increasingly worried about the effect it was having on my mind. I was obsessed with food and how many points I had to eat and what I could eat with that and the numbers on the scales. So I am finding this way of life much free-er, but am still in the stage of wanting the foods that I have denied myself for so long.

I have only a little left to lose now so it is likely to go slower, but its frustrating sometimes. I have been following this for 2 months now and have only lost 4-5 lbs overall, but I am trying not to be discouraged. I really should stop weighing myself too...

The best thing about this book is that it has encouraged me to deepen my relationship with God. I had put it on hold because I had two babies very close together and had fallen away a bit through busyness, but I am happy to say that I am growing closer to God through my struggles everyday.

I hope any others of you will share your stories too!

hi princessleia!
i too am glad for this forum, and the opportunity to 'meet' other like-minded non-dieters who are trying to live healthily and serve God.
i have a massive amount of weight to lose, probably about six stone. i am hampered by my illness, bipolar disorder, for which i have to take lithium and prozac. i have put alot of weight on since starting on the meds, but last year i tried to come off them, and i got really poorly- needing six months off work. so i reluctantly recognise my need for the meds.
i shouldn't imagine i will be able to lose six stone, but some loss would be great. i really need the power of the Holy Spirit in my life, for self-control, determination and energy.
i hope this forum will be a good place to mark our progress!
love, grace x

I lost 5 stone some years ago with a well known diet, although it was one I could live with I still struggled to keep the weight off.

I did the Fit for life course with 3 friends a couple of years ago, we all lost weight but then forgot what we had learned. I now have 2 stone to lose.

Three of us are starting FFL again this week (2 of us original members and 1 new one) This time I am going to stick with it, and keep listening to God.

Hi, I have just come home from a Fit for life forever seminar, and I'm pleasently supprised to find forums.I have had to order my resourse, but I'm so excited about doing the course. I have been going to a well known slimming club on and off for the past 23yrs and I have decided that I cannot live with POINTS any more. What I still don't understand is why I havn't given this( what appears to be very important) part of my life to God yet? Anyway I will let you know how I get on when I'm up and running.Emma.

I think that there are probably a lot of Christians who don't realise that God in interested in every part of our life...and that includes our weight! I'm glad you've found us here Emma, there is also a group on Facebook if you're on there.

Its great to have everyone here!
I am feeling a wonderful sense of peace about food now that I have been 'released' from the points system! I hope everything works out well for you Emma!
