Sermons about healthy living? 1 Year, 11 Months ago
I have been a Christian for around 45 years and can't remember ever hearing a sermon on looking after our bodies or over-eating. What about you? Do you think this is a subject that should be addressed publicly? Why do you think it isn't mentioned very often? Have you ever been in the congregation when a minister has spoken about obesity and if so, how did it make you feel? I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

I've been a Christian for 47 years and I've never heard a sermon on caring for our bodies. I think in every congregation there are people who need to lose weight, maybe the clergy are afraid of upsetting them!

I have only been a Christian for 9 years but I have never heard a sermon on this kind of thing. I have heard it mentioned about looking after your body as it is a temple of the Holy Spirit, but I haven't heard much other guidance on this.
Its a really tough subject to tackle because people can get really offended by it, but it is another part of life just like any other! I would have really benefitted from hearing what God's word has to say about it. Especially when it comes to feeding children and families etc.
